Abstract

The construction industry is a sector characterized by high complexity in project planning, execution, and control. Common challenges include project delays, cost overruns, poor stakeholder coordination, and design errors, which often hinder the achievement of project targets. With the advancement of digital technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged as an innovative solution to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of construction project management. This study aims to analyze the implementation of BIM in the planning and control of building construction projects and to evaluate its benefits. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach using case studies of several building projects that have implemented BIM. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with project managers, consultants, and contractors, and documentation review. The analysis compares project performance using BIM and conventional methods in terms of time, cost, quality, and coordination. The results indicate that BIM enhances planning quality through accurate and integrated 3D visualization, enables early detection of design conflicts, and improves project control. Additionally, BIM facilitates better coordination and communication among stakeholders through a centralized digital model.
