The digital transformation of political communication has altered political socialization among new voters in Indonesia and increased the risk of political polarization. This study explains algorithmic mechanisms, cognitive tendencies, and regulatory gaps that enable the amplification of polarized opinion during the 2024 election. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, the study analyzes documents, search trends, and digital regulation. Findings show that content personalization narrows informational diversity, emotional content strengthens confirmation bias, and short-form visual formats encourage peripheral processing over substantive evaluation. Gamification and interactive live formats intensify affective identification with candidates, while national regulations remain inadequate in governing short-form video materials, unofficial accounts, digital campaign financing transparency, and algorithmic accountability.
