Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have become a major challenge in public health systems due to their impact on work productivity and the quality of public services. This study aims to analyze the effect of periodic health screening on non-communicable disease prevention awareness among civil servants in Yogyakarta City. The research employed a quantitative approach using an explanatory survey method involving 120 civil servants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and literature studies, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings reveal that periodic health screening has a positive and significant effect on improving preventive awareness of NCDs among civil servants. Respondents who regularly participated in health screening demonstrated higher awareness regarding healthy lifestyles, routine medical check-ups, physical activity, and the control of chronic disease risk factors. This study argues that periodic health screening functions not only as an early detection mechanism but also as an instrument for strengthening preventive health culture within institutional governance. Academically, this research contributes to the development of preventive health policy studies and institutional health governance through promotive and preventive approaches within public service systems.
