Abstract

The increasing use of digital technology in the health sector has transformed how people access and utilize health information, including information related to diabetes mellitus prevention. This study aims to analyze the relationship between digital health literacy and diabetes mellitus prevention behavior among productive-age communities in Denpasar City. The study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design involving 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires on digital health literacy and diabetes prevention behavior and were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The findings reveal that digital health literacy has a positive and significant relationship with diabetes mellitus prevention behavior, with a correlation value of 0.621 and a significance level of 0.000. Respondents with higher levels of digital health literacy tended to demonstrate better preventive behaviors, including maintaining healthy dietary patterns, engaging in regular physical activity, and conducting routine health check-ups. This study argues that digital health literacy functions not only as a technical skill for accessing health information but also as a critical instrument in shaping preventive health behavior in urban communities. The findings contribute to the development of digital-based health promotion strategies for preventing non-communicable diseases in Indonesia.
