The phenomenon of fear of missing out (FoMO) has increased alongside the growing intensity of social media use among Muslim university students, particularly in the consumption of digital da’wah content. This study aims to analyze the forms, driving factors, and implications of FoMO on the digital da’wah consumption behavior of Muslim students within social media spaces. The study employs a qualitative approach through library research and conceptual analysis of scholarly works discussing FoMO, social media, digital addiction, and students’ online behavior. Data were collected from reputable scientific journal articles examining the relationship between FoMO, social media intensity, and students’ digital behavior. The findings indicate that FoMO encourages Muslim students to remain continuously connected to digital da’wah content due to psychological pressure not to miss religious information, popular preaching trends, or online religious community activities. This condition increases repetitive content consumption and potentially leads to social media dependency, academic distraction, and reduced quality of religious reflection. This article argues that FoMO in digital da’wah consumption is not merely an individual psychological issue but is also closely related to the social construction of digital media that shapes contemporary Muslim students’ religious behavior. The study contributes to the development of Islamic digital communication studies and the understanding of youth religiosity in the social media era.
